LOK MADHYAM is a Non Government Organization registered under Society Registration Act XXI, 1860 Govt. of Bihar, Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) 1976 . A group of like minded young, social and rural people led the foundation of the Organization by organized effort to address the grass root community issues with special focus on rural areas. The Organization aims “To work towards the upliftment and betterment of all deprived and vulnerable community with special emphasis on children and women, to provide them with right based opportunities and to bring them back into mainstream of the society.’’. The principle of work of the Organization is to involve the community in every stage of the program i.e. planning implementation, evaluation, on the basis of participatory approach. We feel that the success of all interventions depends on the involvement of the people for whom this has been aimed at. It undertakes need based and community cantered issues and tries to make community, local governance and government sensitive towards grass root community problems. It has believe on blending of professionalism with social feeling. It emphasizes on optimum involvement on women members and apply gender policy in every program. The organization believes in development BY THE PEOPLE and FOR THE PEOPLE .Bringing social change through community mobilization and social action is the uppermost priority of the Organization.
We focus on empowering the communities to take up and resolve issues which impact on their quality of life. We work on building the capacity of the people through training, thereby enabling them to negotiate for, and make functional, relevant government programmes in their respective areas.
Women particularly poor, challenged and disadvantaged women ,Children, Child labour , disadvantage children, challenged children, Adolescent, Farmers, Persons with Disability, Youths, Scheduled Caste, Backward Caste, & Weaker Section of Society.

Lok Madhyam believes that each and every person is equal and they have every right to live in this world with dignity. There should be no room for any discrimination whether it is in the form of gender, caste, religion or regional origin.
To prepare the foundations for the self-determination and self-management of the community. Once achieved, we wish to move away from acting as a catalyst in order to start providing guidance and support in a phased manner so that we can ultimately withdraw from the area, partially or fully, leaving the community to manage its own affairs.
